What is RootX?



A product that kills roots in pipes, RootX has a unique foaming action that reaches the top of the pipe where 90% of the root intrusion occurs. Surfactants in the RootX formula strip away grease and grime on the roots, and an EPA registered herbicide (Dichlobenil) kills the roots on contact and prevents their regrowth. RootX can be used with or without mechanical root cutting equipment. Some situations such as a root blockage will require mechanical removal of roots. Mechanical removal is an excellent short term solution. However, if the roots are cut and left untreated (just like pruning a tree or a bush), they will eventually destroy a sewer line and require the line to be dug up and replaced. The replacement of a sewer line would cost much more than an annual treatment with RootX.
