| News Title | Fact or Fiction: All homes are required to have Carbon Monoxide Alarm Detector? |
| Posted By | Mike Williams Plumbing |
| Answer: FACT!!! Under the new State Law in January of 2007 houses and apartments in Illinois must be equipped with at least one carbon monoxide detector. A property owner or landlord who refuses to comply with the law by installing a carbon monoxide detector could be prosecuted for a Class B misdemeanor. Exposure to carbon monoxide, which is odorless and colorless, can be fatal and often is traced to a source such as a faulty furnace or automobile exhaust. People who have breathed in too much carbon monoxide may experience symptoms including headache, nausea and dizziness. |
